SIX SIGHTINGS

RETRO PACK

Six Omarchy themes for the machines that raised us. Commodore 64, Apple II, Teletext, nixie tubes and two phosphor monitors. Keep an eye out for the squatch.

Previews of all six themes in a grid: Commodore 64, Apple II, Teletext, Nixie, Phosphor Green and Phosphor Amber.

INSTALL

One line per theme. Each is its own repo, so take the ones you like. For example:

$ omarchy theme install https://github.com/squatchware/omarchy-c64-theme

Then pick it with Super Ctrl Shift Space or omarchy theme set C64.

THE MACHINES

A Commodore 64 dusk: a sky dithered from black through blue and purple to a pink horizon, layered hills, a pine treeline and the small pixel sasquatch among the trees.
COMMODORE 64READY. The sixteen VIC-II colours dithered into a dusk, plus raster bars for the demo scene. omarchy theme install https://github.com/squatchware/omarchy-c64-theme
Apple II hi-res line art: thin violet, blue and green mountain lines and an orange setting sun on a black screen, with a small sasquatch on the nearest ridge.
APPLE IIGreen on black, with hi-res line art in the six colours the Apple II could make. omarchy theme install https://github.com/squatchware/omarchy-apple-2-theme
A Teletext mosaic skyline: blue block buildings with cyan roofs and yellow lit windows along the bottom of a black page, a yellow crescent moon, and a small red mosaic sasquatch on a rooftop.
TELETEXTPage 100: eight broadcast colours and chunky mosaic graphics, with a skyline to match. omarchy theme install https://github.com/squatchware/omarchy-teletext-theme
A warm, almost black desk with four small glowing nixie tubes reading 19:55 low on the right, and their faint reflection below.
NIXIENeon-orange cathodes behind glass, brass and bronze fittings, warm smoky black. omarchy theme install https://github.com/squatchware/omarchy-nixie-theme
A green vector-monitor landscape: glowing wireframe mountains over a perspective grid, with scanlines and a wireframe moon.
PHOSPHOR GREENA P1 green monochrome monitor: glow, scanlines and a boot screen that takes its time. omarchy theme install https://github.com/squatchware/omarchy-phosphor-green-theme
The same vector landscape on an amber monitor, glowing warm orange.
PHOSPHOR AMBERA P3 amber monochrome monitor: the warm one, easy on the eyes after midnight. omarchy theme install https://github.com/squatchware/omarchy-phosphor-amber-theme

BOOT SCREENS AND SCREENSAVERS

Each machine starts up the way it used to. The same picture is the lock screen and, if you want it, the boot splash. Each theme also brings screensaver art for Omarchy's animated screensaver.

Six boot splashes: a C64 blue screen reading SQUATCH 64 and READY, a green SQUATCH ][ prompt, a mosaic sasquatch head beside a yellow SQUATCHFAX title, four nixie tubes reading 19:55, and green and amber SQUATCHWARE BIOS boot screens.
$ ~/.config/omarchy/themes/c64/extras/install-extras.sh          # screensaver
$ ~/.config/omarchy/themes/c64/extras/install-extras.sh --boot   # + boot splash (sudo)

The screensaver hook is one small script shared by every Squatchware theme: it uses the active theme's art and gives you your own back when you switch to anything else.

WHAT'S IN EACH ONE

colors.tomlterminals, Hyprland, the bar, btop, Neovim and the rest, generated by Omarchy. Every text colour clears 4.5:1 on its background
backgrounds/two wallpapers in the machine's own palette and drawing style (dithering, hi-res lines, mosaics, vector glow) at 3840×2400, calm enough to work in front of

The real palettes come first. Where a real colour is too dim to read as text (the C64's light blue on blue, Teletext's pure blue on black), it's lifted just enough to pass. The phosphor themes stay monochrome but keep a little hue in each ANSI colour, so errors still look like errors.
